Cycling must have been a wonderful experience for all of us during our school days. For the ones who still continue their passion of riding there are wide options to still enjoy. Cycling in mountains with woods and rocky trails all over is definitely an exciting thought. But in order to have memorable experience through your mountain biking it is very essential to have correct mtb tire.
Mountain biking tires should be selected keeping in mind all the physical conditions of the place. These tires are generally wide and have better grip and traction. These tires are able to perform well on various different surfaces including the rock, sand, dirt and gravel. Proper pressure should also be maintained during mountain biking. These mtb tires have less pressure as compared to the road bikes as they have larger volume.
There are strong and durable spokes and rims in mountain biking tires so as to handle the rough conditions and give you comfort. Beside tires all other bike parts should also be well considered during mountain biking so as to enhance your mountain biking experience.
There are several manufacturers that make mountain bike tires and making a choice among them is a difficult task. It is very much possible that different tires may look identical or different but even the slightest variation in width and weight will make a vast difference in their performance. So while making selection of mountain bike tires following points should be considered.
Identify the terrain:
First of all the type of terrain where you are going to ride should be identified so as to make appropriate selection of tires according to it. If you are planning to ride in different terrains then several tires should be purchased as per the conditions.
Rider’s weight:
The weight of the rider is also an important consideration for deciding the type of tire. Heavier the rider the wider should be the tire.
Soft and hard rocks:
If you are planning to ride on hard surfaces then make selection of soft narrow tires and if the rocks are soft and loose then knobby tires are the perfect choice.
Presence of mud:
Presence of mud also determines the type of mountain bike tyres. If your biking takes you to treks having mud then it is better to have narrow tires as they help to find the hard surface by cutting the mud.
Type of rider:
If you are a casual rider then you should go for the tires that have evenly spaced pattern as they serve as all around tires.
Thus in order to have perfect biking experience all these considerations should be made while selecting your biking tires. Along with appropriate tires the air pressure in them also plays a vital role for having safe and comfortable riding. Proper pressure gives better control of the bike. You can always go for a trial run in order to determine the ideal pressure. So go ahead and just keep few points in mind to have ultimate experience with your mountain biking.
